Cookies and browser storage on Betty Login
Updated September 28, 2026
This page explains what this website saves in your browser, why, and how you can change your mind later. In one sentence: by default the site stores a single item, and that item exists only to remember what you chose about cookies. Nothing else is saved, and no outside scripts load, until you say yes.
The site is run by Betty Gaming. For how we handle personal information more broadly, including the data in your Betty account, see our privacy notice.
Cookies and local storage, briefly
A cookie is a small text file a website places in your browser. Local storage does a similar job: it keeps a small piece of data on your device so a site can recall it on your next visit. Cookies are often sent back to a server with every page request. Local storage stays on your device unless the page reads it.
People tend to call all of this "cookies", and we do the same on this page for simplicity. The rules we follow are the same whichever technology is used. If something is not essential for the site to work, it waits for your permission.
What we store and for how long
| Name | Category | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| bettyprov_choice_v1 | Essential | Remembers whether you accepted or declined the optional categories, so the cookie banner does not keep coming back. | Until you change your choice or clear your browser storage |
| Measurement items | Measurement | Would count visits and show us which pages people find useful. Off by default. | Nothing is stored unless you opt in |
| Marketing items | Marketing | Would help us understand which outside campaigns brought visitors here. Off by default. | Nothing is stored unless you opt in |
The essential item is stored in local storage, not as a cookie. It holds your choice and nothing more. It carries no name, email address or account number, and it is never sent to a third party.
The three categories in plain terms
Essential
Essential storage is what the site needs in order to work the way you asked it to. Here that means remembering your cookie decision. Without it, we would have to ask you again on every page. Essential storage cannot be switched off from the banner, but you can always delete it through your browser settings.
Measurement
Measurement tells us how the site is used overall: which pages get read, where people drop off, whether a page loads slowly on phones. It helps us fix things. It is not needed to read the site, so it stays off unless you turn it on. If you do, the tool involved may set its own cookies, and we will list them in the table above before we introduce any new one.
Marketing
Marketing storage links a visit to an advertising campaign, so we can tell which ads are worth running. It also stays off by default. We do not use it to build a profile of your gambling, and we never switch it on for someone who has declined.
Nothing loads before you decide
Some sites load analytics or advertising code the moment a page opens and only ask for permission afterwards. We do not. Until you accept a category, no third-party script from that category is requested at all, so no outside company learns about your visit through our pages. If you decline, or simply close the banner, the site works exactly the same for you.
Changing your choice
You can review your decision whenever you like. Use this link to reopen the cookie panel: Change your cookie choice. Switch categories on or off and save. The new setting applies straight away.
If you had accepted measurement or marketing and then turn them off, those tools stop loading from your next page view. Any cookies they already placed can be removed through your browser, as described below.
A choice for each device
Because the choice lives in your browser, it belongs to that browser and device only. Many Betty players move between provinces, and a lot of them switch devices as they go: a laptop at home in Ontario, a phone on a trip to Vancouver, a work tablet in Winnipeg. Each one will ask you once. Choosing "decline" on your phone does not change what your laptop remembers, and the reverse is also true.
Controlling storage through your browser
Every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and site data. In most of them, the setting sits under Privacy or Security in the main menu. You can clear data for this site alone or for every site, and many browsers can block third-party cookies completely.
If you clear this site's data, the bettyprov_choice_v1 item disappears along with everything else, and the banner appears again on your next visit. Private or incognito windows usually forget everything once closed, so you may be asked each time you use one.
Your Betty account area
This notice covers the public pages of this site. When you sign in to your Betty account, the account area needs its own essential storage to keep you signed in securely and to run the location check before real-money play. Those items are required for the account to function, and they are explained where you sign in.
Why we kept it this small
Most of what people come here for is information: how to sign in from Quebec, what works while you are away in Alberta, where to find limits and help. None of that requires tracking. Keeping storage to one small item makes the site lighter on older phones and means we have less of your data to look after, which suits everyone.
If that changes, for example because we add a measurement tool to find pages that load badly, the tool will sit in the right category, stay off until you opt in, and appear in the table at the top of this page.
Updates to this notice
When we change what the site stores, we update this page and the date on it. If a change affects the optional categories, the banner asks you again, so an earlier "yes" never quietly covers something new.
