Betty account terms for players across Canada
Updated September 28, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Betty Gaming, the company behind Betty Casino and this site. They apply from the day you open a Betty account and every time you sign in after that, from whichever province you happen to be in. Please read them properly once. If something here does not sit right with you, the better choice is not to register.
We have kept the wording as plain as we can, and where a rule exists for a reason, we tell you the reason. Two other documents work alongside these terms: our privacy notice, which explains what we do with your personal information, and our cookie notice, which covers what this website stores in your browser.
Who can hold a Betty account
To open an account you must be at least 19 years old. You also need to give us your real name, date of birth and home address, and those details have to be yours. An account opened with someone else's identity, or with made-up information, will be closed.
A few people cannot hold an account even if they meet the age rule. That includes anyone currently self-excluded from gambling in Ontario, whether through us or through a provincial program, and employees of Betty Gaming along with relatives who live in the same home.
We can ask you to prove any of this at any time. If we find that an account belongs to someone under 19, we close it, return the deposits, and void the play on that account.
Where real-money play is allowed
Betty is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and offers its games through an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. That registration is for Ontario, and only Ontario. So the core rule is short: we accept real-money wagers only while you are physically located inside the province.
Before each real-money session, a geolocation check confirms where your device is. If the check cannot place you in Ontario, the games stay locked for real money until it can. Using a VPN, a proxy or any app that disguises your location breaks these terms. If we detect it, we may suspend the account while we review what happened.
Signing in from Quebec, BC, Alberta, Manitoba or further away
Plenty of our players travel: a work trip to Calgary, a semester in Montreal. Your login keeps working on those trips. You can check your balance, update personal details, ask for a withdrawal, set or change limits and take a break. What you cannot do is place a real-money bet until the geolocation check puts you back in Ontario. Our regulatory information page sets this out province by province.
One account per person
Each person may have one Betty account. If we find duplicates, we merge or close them, and any bonus claimed through the extra account is removed.
Your account is personal. Keep your password to yourself, never let another person play on your login, and only use payment methods registered in your own name. Anything done under your login is treated as done by you, so pick a strong password and sign out when you use a shared computer or tablet.
Proving who you are
Ontario rules require every operator to confirm the identity of its players. When you register, we run an electronic check against your details, and for most people that is enough to get started. Before your first withdrawal, we ask for two documents:
- a valid government photo ID, for example a driver's licence, a passport or a provincial photo card;
- proof of address dated within the last 3 months, such as a utility bill or a bank statement.
The name and address on those documents must match your account. From time to time we may need more, for instance information about the source of the money you deposit, when the law asks us to collect it. Withdrawals wait until the check is finished, and we will tell you exactly what is missing if something holds it up.
Deposits and withdrawals
Every Betty account runs in Canadian dollars. You can pay in and cash out with Interac e-Transfer, Visa Debit, Mastercard Debit or online bank transfer. We do not accept cryptocurrency.
- The smallest deposit we accept is C$20, and the smallest withdrawal is also C$20.
- Withdrawals go to a payment method in your name, and where possible to the one you used to deposit.
- Once approved, an Interac withdrawal normally lands within 15 minutes.
- An online bank transfer takes 1 to 3 business days.
Deposits are meant for play. If money goes in and comes straight back out with little or no play in between, we may ask about it before releasing the funds. Canadian anti-money-laundering law also requires us to report certain transactions, and we do.
Welcome package
New players can claim a welcome package of up to C$1,500 plus 200 free spins, split across the first three deposits.
| Deposit | Match bonus | Free spins |
|---|---|---|
| First | 100% up to C$500 | 100 |
| Second | 50% up to C$500 | 50 |
| Third | 50% up to C$500 | 50 |
Rules that apply to the package
- Each qualifying deposit must be C$20 or more.
- Winnings from the free spins are paid as cash. There is no wagering on them.
- Match-bonus money has a 30x wagering requirement, played on slots within 30 days of the bonus landing in your account. Bonus money still unwagered after 30 days expires.
- While bonus money is active, the maximum bet is C$5 per spin or round.
- The package is limited to one per person, one per household and one per device.
- You can only claim it while you are located in Ontario.
A quick example. Deposit C$100 the first time and you receive C$100 in bonus money plus 100 free spins. To turn that C$100 bonus into cash you can withdraw, you need C$3,000 in slot bets (30 times C$100) within the 30 days. Whatever the free spins win is yours straight away.
Asking for a withdrawal before wagering is complete cancels the remaining bonus money. We may also remove a bonus if its rules are broken, for example through bets above C$5 or through a second account.
Accounts that go quiet
If you stop using your account for a long stretch, we email you before we take any step with it. Your balance remains yours. We never keep a player's money simply because an account has been left alone, and you can ask for it at any point.
Closing your account
You can close your account whenever you like. Tell us in live chat or by email to our help desk. Once any open bets settle and verification is complete, we pay out your remaining balance.
Closing an account is not the same as self-exclusion. If gambling is the reason you want to leave, please use the self-exclusion option described on our safer play page, because it blocks new accounts too.
We may suspend or close an account on our side where false details were given, where there is fraud or location spoofing, where a player is under 19, where staff are abused, or where a regulator instructs us to.
Limits of our liability
We work to keep the site and the games running properly, but we cannot promise they will never be interrupted. If a game malfunctions, the affected round is void and the stake goes back to your balance. If a payout is clearly wrong because of a technical fault, we can correct it.
We are not responsible for losses caused by your own device, your internet connection or a password you shared. Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under Ontario consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
When these terms change
If we update these terms, the date at the top of the page changes. For any change that affects you in a meaningful way, we let you know by email or inside your account before it starts to apply. Carrying on with play after that point means you accept the new version.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go before the Ontario courts. Before it ever gets that far, we would much rather sort things out with you directly. The steps for raising a complaint are on our contact page.
